Embracing The Uncommon Path

'The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.' - ARISTOTLE

LOOKING FOR A FACE TO TIE THIS MISSION TO? DO NOT LOOK FOR ONE!

BUT RATHER, LOOK FOR 'WE', OF WHICH YOU SHOULD BE A PART OF.

FOR THIS IS AN UNPRECEDENTED GRASSROOTS MOVEMENT. WHERE DO YOU BELONG?

WE ARE COMMUNITY. WE ARE INCLUSIVE. WE ARE REVOLUTIONARY. WE ARE BLACK!

Embracing The Uncommon Path

Black Fear!

In other for us to build and grow collective wealth, a greater number of us must find and travel/experience the uncommon path.

What is this uncommon path?

There are 5 types of Black people – The Outliers or Unicorns, The High Achievers, The Settlers, The Hustlers and The Indifferent.

The Outliers

are those who create new paths for their visions and dreams. They make it happen, regardless of statistics, challenges or other people’s doubts.

The High Achievers

are those who study and understand the systems in place and patiently climb to the apex of achievements within these systems. These are those that are recognized by so-called systems as the exceptional 1%.

The Settlers

are those who are usually scared to venture out. They are scared of ruffling feathers in order to maintain their secure spaces – i.e. jobs, presumed reputation etc

The Hustlers

just don’t stop – They’re in everything. You know, the jacks of multiple trades.

The Indifferent

just don’t give a damn about anything. Y’all wanna drown? I don’t care. Protest? I don’t care. Work? Oh I also don’t care.

There is a place and need in society for every group. However, in order for us to progress, we need more Outliers.

Thing is, many of us within the working class have been conditioned to box ourselves into mostly The Hustler and The Settlers groups, while we aspire to move up to The High Achievers group. We send our kids to school to go graduate with the anticipation of securing a good job, instead of creating the jobs. Your definition of good job now depends on the size of your dreams – 40K, 100K, or 500K.

Unfortunately, we are mostly scared of The Outliers Group because of its risk and uncertainty, but forget that nothing dared is nothing achieved.

We need more Outliers. Many, many, more!!!

Think Black Wall Street, Historically Black Colleges and Universities and all the other institutions that we formed to protect our communities. Those were uncommon moments and frameworks, many of which may have now been infiltrated and compromised, resulting in

Black Fear!

THIS IS AN OUTLIERS GROUP MOVEMENT. WHERE WOULD YOU BELONG?
